The Toronto Blue Jays turned their franchise around two years ago, when they made it to the ALCS, only to lose to the Royals. They were the team to beat in the MLB that year, which followed them into the 2016 season with a return to the ALCS, this time losing to the Cleveland Indians. They made a few changes before this year, but since the beginning of the year they haven't been able to bounce out of last place in the AL East. Tonight, they face the team that is one spot up in the standings for the second time in back-to-back games. Last night the Jays got a big win against the Orioles, with a 4-0 win and they hope to take that and turn it the start of a new winning streak.
Starting Pitchers
The Jays are at home again tonight and are sending their left-handed hurler to the mound in J.A. Happ. Happ looks like he could be back on his 20-win form after injuries have plagued him for much of this year. He has a 3.83 ERA and 49 strikeouts. The Orioles are going with their right-hander Ubaldo Jiminez to center stage for the second time against Toronto this year. The inconsistent pitcher could not make it passed the third inning last time around and he will have a difficult time taking charge of the game, while at Rogers Centre. His 7.26 ERA is not something to be proud about and one needs to wonder how much longer the Orioles will continue to send him to the mound.
