MLB Regular Season Game of the Night: Blue Jays vs RangersPublished August 26, 2015 by Sol FH
The Blue Jays try for five in a row against the Rangers, live tonight at 1:05 GMT.
The Toronto Blue Jays are on yet another winning streak, now stretching four games. They have moved past the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East at 70-55 and have improved to sixth overall in the MLB.
Tonight's game is the second in the best of three series against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers are in second place in the AL West at 64-60 and suffered a come-from-behind defeat at the hands of the Jays in Texas last night. The Rangers were up by one run going into the top of the ninth, when Jay's shortstop Troy Tulowitzki got to the plate. Tulowitzki took advantage of a hanging fastball and made the score 6-5. “It was a good win,” related Tulowitzki. “I think as a team we’ve been finding ways to win ballgames in a lot of different ways and tonight was one of those close games that we just found a way."
If the Blue Jays want to continue their winning streak, they will need to win the next two games on-the-road, as the entire series is being played in Texas. The Jays record on the road is 30-32, which needs to improve if they are to have a real shot at a good position in the playoffs. With the end of the season near, every win is crucial and the Jays know they are well within range to go into the off-season with home field advantage.
