Monday Night Football: Jets vs BearsPublished September 22, 2014 by Sol FH
Live from MetLife Arena, the New York Jets host the Chicago Bears in the week 3 matchup you've been waiting for. It all starts at 1:30am in the UK.
Travelling to the Jets' home turf is never an easy task. True, the team hasn't won a Superbowl since 1968, but this year they look and feel a lot different than in the past and their goal is to make the playoffs for the first time since 2010. This will be easier said than done with a team as tough as "Da Bears" coming to town but if they are to capitalize on the weakened Chicago team due to injuries, they could be successful at home.
Injuries are plaguing the Bears and the team's depth will be tested tonight. There are a total of five of the starters on the injury list and players from both Offense and Defense are hurt. Linebacker Shea McClellin, center Roberto Garza, left guard Matt Slauson, defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff and Special teams extraordinaire Sherrick McManis have all been ruled out of the Monday Night match-up.
If one man can put the team in the end-zone its Jay Cutler, third so far this season in pass attempts, which shows just how much he likes to throw the ball and use his weapons on the receiving end so much. Jay the animal Cutler has already gone 57 of 83 with 525 yards and 6 TD's.
The Jets are 1-1, as are the Bears, but a win at home tonight will put them in a tie for first place in the AFC East with the Bills and the Patriots respectively. To overcome Chicago, QB Geno Smith will need to work on his passing and try to confuse one of the best defensive teams of all time.
