Monday Night Football: Seahawks vs Redskins

Tonight's Monday Night spotlight shines down on FedEx Field in Landover Maryland for the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins. It should be an excellent game as both teams are fired up for a win in week 5. The Seahawks are in second place in the NFC west, while the Redskins are in last place in the NFC east, but don't count them out just yet.

QB Matchup

Last year was an all-star season for both QB's, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson, respectively. Griffin took the Redskins to an NFC East title, while Wilson got the Seahawks their first Super Bowl Championships against the Broncos. The beginning of this year worked out quite differently for each player as well, Griffin III dislocated his left ankle in Week 2, while Wilson has taken the defending champions to a 2-1 record including an overtime victory against their Super bowl rivals.

Since Griffin went down, backup quarterback Kirk Cousins has been struggling to make anything happen for the Skins. They lost by 31 points last week and Cousins turned the ball over five times in his lack-luster performance. On paper, it looks like these teams are quite even, but lest we forget that the Seahawks had a bye week last week, which means they are almost better than the Redskins are even when they are missing a game.

Keys to Victory

Let's face it, the Seahawks have a chance to win it all again but they cannot continue to suck in the fourth quarter as they did against the Broncos. The Seahawks' defense allowed 17 points and needed Wilson to rally back for a dramatic overtime win. Wilson needs to score early and use Percy Harvin through the air and Marshawn Lynch on the ground. 

The Redskins need to get on the board early as well, but they will need to stop the dominating offense that the Seahawks bring to the field. Cousins needs to get comfortable fast if he is to have any luck tonight.
