Most Exciting Moments of the World Cup So Far

High scores, beautiful goals, individual achievements and moving tributes have made for a very exciting World Cup so far.

Despite controversy, bad refereeing and professional diving, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil has also produced many exciting moments for millions of spectators all around the world. Let's look at some.

Netherlands Thrash Spain

Many were eager to see Spain's form this year as there was belief the team will try to make history and secure the trophy yet again – these things however went out of the window when Netherlands blasted Spain 5 to 1 on the second day of the tournament. Robin van Persie's equalizing header in the 44th minute will remain one of the most beautiful goals in World Cup history.

Miroslav Klose Makes History

Germany veteran Miroslav Klose entered the Mannschaft's game against Ghana on the 69th minute when they were down 2 to 1. Two minutes later Klose scored, giving his team a very important tie but also making World Cup history, tying Ronaldo's all-time World Cup record and becoming the second player to score 15 goals in World Cup games.

Ochoa Stops Brazil

Mexico has been great in the World Cup so far, having made it to the round of 16. The "El Tri" have much to thank their goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa who has been displaying some excellent performance. In particular, Ochoa gave one of the best performances from a goalie in his team's game against Brazil, when he denied the Brazilians time and time again from scoring by pulling amazing and heroic saves.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Haircut Tribute

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo showed up to the game against USA with a funky haircut. While not 100% confirmed, word has it that Ronaldo's haircut was a tribute to Erik Ortiz Cruz, a young Spanish boy who underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor, an operation funded entirely by Ronaldo, who has a history of philanthropic efforts.
