Mr Green to Enter Italian Online Gambling in Spring 2015

Mr Green is already a highly recognisable brand in the European online gambling market, but now the operator is seeking to expand by entering the Italy online gambling market. At present, the plan is to complete market entry by the end of spring 2015.

Italian national gambling regulator Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato (AAMS) has granted permission for Mr Green to take over the license of Mybet Italia S.r.l. The plan to take over the license had been previously announced in January 2015. With Europe’s leading online gambling markets approaching saturation, Mr Green will now be able to target growth in a market that is on the rise.

Italy Online Gambling Approval

Parent company Mr Green & Co has tasked subsidiary Mr Green Ltd, which is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, with managing the day-to-day operations of Mybet Italia. Mr Green Ltd is already highly experienced in the provision of online casino games across desktop, live, and mobile channels.

The extent of the online gambling approval granted by AAMS will mean that Mr Green will have the legal right to offer casino games, sports betting, online poker, and bingo games. However, Mr Green is only intending to focus on casino games for the immediate future. The focus will instead be on rolling out its casino offering to the Italian online gambling market by the conclusion of Spring 2015.

Change Ahead for Mr Green

Mr Green has long been focused on Scandinavian markets, but that has gradually changed in recent years after entry to other European markets. This latest move into Italy signifies that wider European expansion is still on the cards.

To drive the brand’s expansion, the operator will be appointing Per Norman as the new CEO in 2015. Ahead of his official appointment, Norman explained that he will continue with the operator’s favoured strategy of expansion.
