Name Change Official: Harrah's Now Caesars

World's biggest gaming company completes much-publicized name change.

Harrah's Entertainment Incorporated, one of the world leaders amongst land-based gaming companies, has officially changed its name to Caesars Entertainment Corporation.

Holding on to Harrah's

However the Las Vegas gaming giant, founded in 1937, said in the announcement that it would maintain the former name as one of its primary brands.

"In recognition of Caesars' status as the world's pre-eminent and most respected casino brand, we have changed the name of our parent company to Caesars Entertainment Corporation," Harrah's President and CEO Gary Loveman said.

The news came as no big surprise given that the company publicly revealed its intention to make the name change earlier in the month, before finally becoming official last Tuesday.

The New Caesars

Harrah's (or Caesars from now on) owns more than 50 properties in six countries, including Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Caesars Atlantic City and the Caesars brand.

It also includes Horseshoe, Total Rewards and the popular World Series of Poker in its impressive stable.

With yearly revenues of at least $10.8 billion, the Nevada-based company is the largest gaming company in the world.
