The Raptors roll into Atlanta to take on the Hawks tonight at 19:30 GMT and wagering lines are open.
The defending champion, Toronto Raptors are on-the-road tonight against a struggling Atlanta Hawks team that has seen just ten wins so far this season. Toronto is coming off a big win against the Minnesota Timberwolves 122-112, while the Hawks were blown out by the Detroit Pistons 136-103. The Raptors are now 28-14 and sit in third place in the Eastern Conference behind the dominant Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat, respectively. Atlanta is on the other side of the spectrum in the last place with a record of 10-33.
Toronto has been led offensively by Fred VanVleet, who converted 11 of 16 from the floor against the Timberwolves for 29-points. The team shot 52% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc, but it was their defense that won the game. The Timberwolves scored 39-points in the first quarter, but Toronto was able to come back, hold, and go-ahead to win.
Atlanta's hopes for a winning season are all but over unless they receive a miracle during the second half of the year. Against the Pistons, Atlanta did have at least one ray of hope in John Collins who went 8 of 16 from the floor with 20-points. The Hawks were terrible on defense and let Detroit shoot 59% from the floor and an amazing 15-three pointers.
The Raptors hope to continue their three-game win streak with a road victory over the Hawks. This is a great possibility of becoming a reality as the struggling Hawks cannot seem to get it together.
