The East takes on the West tonight as the 4-2 Toronto Raptors take on the 6-1 Oklahoma Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Thunder are leading the Western Conference and are on a two-game winning streak after taking down the Heat and the Timberwolves respectively. The Raptors are also in great shape currently in fourth place in the East, just behind the Cavs, Hornets and Hawks, but it is still very early in the season.
Tonight's game will be one of the best to watch tonight. Both teams bring incredible talent and depth to the hardwood and they want to prove that they are able to beat the other. The Raptors' starting five are excellent with Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan the highlights, but they will be against Russell Westbrook and company.
Westbrook, the Thunder's guard has been on a tear lately, averaging 30.4 points, 9.9 assists and 8.4 rebounds. He was just one assist short of going three games with three triple-doubles and is only improving as time goes on. The only player to start the year in better situation than Westbrook is DeRozan with 33.7 points average on 52 percent shooting. The Raptors only weakness has been defensively. The Thunder play a very fast offensive game and at home it will be difficult for the Raptors to slow it down. DeRozan will be tasked at guarding Andre Roberson, which could actually be worse for DeRozan, as the 6-foot 7, 210 pound Roberson is athletic and has the speed to hold him down.
