A big showdown between East and West, as the Raptors take on the Grizzlies live at 1:00 GMT.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in or around the top spot in the Western Conference and their improvement this season has been evident all year long. Led by Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, averaging 20.2, and 17-points per game respectively, the once-struggling Grizzlies team is finally seeing success.
The Toronto Raptors have been a force in the East since the season tipped-off. Few teams have been able to beat them this season, and they reside in first place. The Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka, and Kyle Lowry threesome has been strong enough to down the most robust defenses in the league leaving most teams with nothing to do except fight for their honor as the score slips away.
Both teams are coming off wins a couple of nights ago, but the Raptors have the stronger squad. Memphis at the FedEx Arena has been excellent so far this year, and that advantage could be enough to take the momentum away from the explosive Raptors offense. It would be a great chance to see what could potentially be an NBA Final if both teams were so inclined to make it that far.
The only Canadian team left in the NBA, and it's funny, the Grizzlies once started out in Vancouver, Canada in the days of Bryant 'Big Country' Reeves, and their purple and teal uniforms. Things have been far more successful since moving to Memphis, but tough games against the best teams in the league are exactly the types of wins that the Grizzlies need.
Betting Odds and Prediction
The Raptors are favorites to win tonight at 1.56, while the Grizzlies are at 2.28, not a lot of breathing room between them, but bet365 Sports will still be offering live in play markets in addition to the odds above. The Raptors should be able to pull the plug on the Grizzlies' recent success, and with the Warriors making a comeback, it'll be great to see just how tough Memphis really is.
