NBA Playoffs: Spurs vs Rockets in Game 6
Published May 11, 2017 by Sol FH
The Spurs just one win away from advancing in the NBA Playoffs but the Rockets hot on their tail. Tip-off at 1:00 GMT.
There are only two NBA series' left in the second round of the NBA Playoffs - the Celtics and the Wizards in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and the Spurs against the Rockets in the West. The Spurs are up 3 games to 2, but as we have seen in this series, game 6 could go either way. The Spurs won game 5 by 3 points in overtime and it was both teams' defenses that came up big. The Spurs only allowed 6 points in OT, while the Rockets let in 9 and it was a tight battle the whole way.
James Harden was at his best yet again in game 5, scoring 33 points and 10 assists. The Spurs have not really had an answer for Harden, as the NBA All-Star has scored around 30+ each game of the series. For San Antonio, they have a more balanced offense without one true superstar like a LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant or in this case, a James Harden. What the Spurs do have is a team that plays together incredibly well on both sides of the court. The Spurs' defense though, has not done enough to stop Harden. If you think back to a few years ago when the Heat held him to 38% shooting and won the series, Harden was double teamed every time he had the ball. His famous pick and roll was worthless, which was a big reason the Heat blew them out.
Prediction
The Spurs are playing in Houston and with the Rockets in need of a win to stay alive, you better believe that they will be doing everything to get the win. Mark this one up for Houston, but it will not be an easy game.
