NCAA Championship: Baylor Vs. Gonzaga

Will Gonzaga complete the undefeated dream season that they are one win away from achieving? The tip-off is tonight at 2:20 GMT.

It has been a few years since the two No. 1 ranked teams in the NCAA tournament have met in the national championship, but, we are lucky enough that this is exactly the case tonight. All eyes will be on Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis tonight to witness Gonzaga, going for the elusive perfect season, while Baylor, with just 2-losses this year, go head-to-head.

If the Bulldogs can win tonight, they would be the first team in 45-years to complete the perfect season. Tonight, they will face their stiffest competition yet, as Baylor, also ranked No.1, will be looking for its 5th national championship.

Baylor Bears Keys to Victory

The Bears are by far the best 3-point shooting team in the nation. They are averaging over 41% from beyond the arc and have an arsenal of players that are dangerously accurate. Baylor is undefeated when on the 3's - their two losses came due to less than 30% 3-point shooting against Oklahoma and Kansas, respectively.

Moreover, these losses came after the team was unable to play for three weeks in February due to COVID-19. When the Bears came back to the hardcourt, critics said that they were not in tune and something had changed. Certainly, after this NCAA run, those critics have changed their tune, as the Bears have won each of their five NCAA tournament games by nine points or more.

Gonzaga Bulldogs Keys to Victory

The Bulldogs are truly one of the best 2-point shooting teams in college basketball history. Led by Drew Timme, winner of the Karl Malone Award, Corey Kispert, Jalen Suggs who had the best buzzer-beater in recent history that gave the Zags the ticket to the Championship game, and, Joel Ayayi, one of the tournaments' unsung heroes.

This team is the real deal and going this far into the season without a single loss is quite incredible. But, to become the first team to go unbeaten since Indiana in 1976 would be a dream.

The Zags need to continue shooting and getting rebounds, and, try to limit at least one or two of the Bears' 3-point shooters, easier said than done.
