The Sooners are coming off a victory against the No. 9 seed Missouri Tigers, 72-68, Oklahoma must face off against the No. 1 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs today at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Sooners have made it to the second round but will they actually be able to pull it off against such a strong team.
To make matters worse for Oklahoma, they will again be without their second-leading scorer sophomore De’Vion Harmon due to a positive COVID-19 test.
The Bulldogs are the favorites to win the National Title, so even if the Sooners are happy about their first-round win, they will not be happy about today's tipoff.
Gonzaga is undefeated and has been looked at as a top-2 team all season long. For the past couple of months, they have been regarded as the best team in the nation. Mark Few has guided Gonzaga to this amazing feat, led by All-American forward Corey Kispert and future-NBA pick Jalen Suggs. Their other forward Drew Timme is no pushover and is a sensational player as well.
The game will be played with limited attendance so there is no real home-team advantage, but, Gonzaga is the outright favorites to win and the Sooners will most-likely go out after today.
NCAA March Madness Odds
The odds today are heavily in favor of the Bulldogs. bet365 Sports has the Dogs at 1.071 to win, while the Oklahoma Sooners are way back at 9.50. The Over/Under is 154.5 with the Sooners on the Over.
It should be a blowout, as the Bulldogs are having the best season they have seen in years. The stage is set for the Bulldogs to go all the way and the only way they will be stopped is by a miracle.
