Nektan Secures Remote Betting License in Ireland

Nektan has signed strategic deals to bolster its iGaming presence in Ireland.
Nektan has been granted a remote gaming license in Ireland.
New License
The license took effect as of August 1st, with Nektan's CEO expressing his pleasure at being one of the first operators to gain approval in Ireland's new licensing environment. Nektan is engaging in a marketing push in the Irish market which includes gaming network partnerships with Irish stations Independent News & Media and TV3.
Regulatory History
Last March, Ireland's Betting Amendment Act 2015 was signed into law to update the outdated Betting Act of 1931 to regulate remote operators to accept bets from Irish customers.
As of August, both remote bookmakers and betting intermediaries will be required to hold a license in Ireland in order to legally offer betting services to players in Ireland.
Increasing iGaming Presence
Nektan is looking to establish itself in newly regulated online jurisdictions in keeping with the increased investment it has committed towards iGaming enterprises, on the heels of the deal signed with NYX Gaming as well as Malta-based operating giant Leo Vegas Casino last year.
Nektan's games will be much more ubiquitous after integration of its remote gaming server into the LeoVegas casino platform, which opened the door for widespread distribution of Leo Vegas content across mobile and tablet devices.
Partnerships with Major Operators
The NYX Gaming Deal enabled Nektan to launching its patented Nextgen Gaming supported title across an increasingly diverse array of customers frequenting NYX-powered sites, including software provision and mobile content for the popular Vera and John casino and 888 Casino online casinos.
Mobile play format is becoming more popular in Ireland along with the rest of the world, with more and more players discovering the allure of playing on the go. With an ever increasing amount of mobile content, Nektan is primed to enter new markets in the most user-friendly and accessible manner possible.
