NetEnt Continues to Expand, Enters Portugal

Casino games and software supplier NetEnt adds another regulated market by securing a license to operate in Portugal.

NetEnt, one of the top few online casino games and software suppliers, has secured a license to operate in the Portuguese market. By entering Portugal, NetEnt continues to expand its influence in Europe adding another important market to their portfolio.

Joining Another Regulated Market

The NetEnt's company strategy during the recent years has revolved around entering as many regulated European and global markets as possible. Through these efforts, NetEnt strives to maintain its position as one of the industry leaders.

Players from Portugal will be able to access NetEnt games at Betclic Casino for the time being, although the company will probably expand to add more brands shortly. Betclic is a fairly new online casino, but they are also the first operator to have started offering their games to players from Portugal after regulatory changes earlier this year.

The Chief of European Market Operations for NetEnt Enrico Bradamante emphasized this was an important milestone for the company staying in line with its growth and expansion strategy. The partnership with Betclic is sensible given their strong presence in the country, and Bradamante believes players will appreciate the addition of new and exciting games to Betclic's portfolio.

Keeping Up

Portugal is just the latest of the regulated markets NetEnt has entered. For several years now, the company has kept up the pace with regulatory changes, making sure players around the globe can access their rich and diverse offer.

In 2011, NetEnt became one of the first suppliers to enter the Italian regulated market. This was followed by securing a license to operate in Denmark in 2012. In 2015, NetEnt also entered Spain. These are just a few licenses the company managed to secure over the years.

These expansion efforts are equally important for NetEnt, casino operators, and players. NetEnt needs to be present in as many markets as possible; casinos need to have a diverse portfolio, while players simply want to be able to enjoy as many exciting games as possible.
