The agreement represents a model for interstate commerce that can provide all participating states with a single gaming platform.
A new plan has been approved by the Nevada Gaming Control board (NGCB) to enable all players in the state of Nevada to access all brands of gaming providers within one online platform.
Caesars' and Treasure Island First in Line
Caesars' World Series of Poker and Treasure Island's poker rooms would be among the first poker rooms accessible on the new NGCB platform.
A third online poker network would be added as well, from Gibraltar-based 888 poker. 888 would maintain connections with Treasure Island to establish accessibility across the NGCB networked system. 888Poker actually maintains the WSOP and Treasure Island platforms, so integration in Nevada is a virtually seamless procedure.
Model for Unified Interstate Platform
The networking technology devised by Nevada regulators can further serve as the model for all states, with Nevada and Delaware being the US states imminently looking to implement an effective fully regulated online gaming platform in the near future.
The shared interactive model is consistent with the United States' first interstate gaming compact, jointly signed in February by Nevada governor Brian Sandoval and Delaware governor Jack Markell.
888 Designated Provider
In this interstate commerce agreement, 888Poker was designated as the provider of said interstate gaming platform enabling poker players from both states in the compact to participate in online poker offerings from either state, as unified on a single provider platform.
The NGCB approving committee unanimous approved the 888 online poker network proposal, eliciting this statement from NGCB Chairman A.G. Burnett, “Everyone here has been working hard to make the agreement with Delaware a reality.”
Final Details
The final ruling which would confirm approval is to be issued today July 24th, with approval of live operation of the proposed poker network still necessitating another round of testing before NGCB approval.
As of this writing, Treasure Island has yet to launch its Internet-based poker room, pending approval from Nevada state regulatory bodies.
