A two day seminar to discuss technical and legal issues surrounding Internet gaming hosted by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
This week The Nevada Gaming Commission is holding a two day seminar, focused on technical and legal issues surrounding Internet gaming. The chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, Brian Sandoval said, "The first thing that we as regulators will have to do is meet with the Department of Justice to determine their interpretation of the federal law - specifically the Wire Act - and its applicability to the Nevada Law.
We anticipate that we would be meeting with (US Attorney General) Mr. Ashcroft or his representatives in the very near future to ascertain some of the answers to those questions."
The committees meeting with Mr. Ashcroft, a far right republican who is opposed to gambling will head the meeting.
In the interim, it is important for the Commission to prepare for this meeting in order to know where Mr. Ashcroft and the U.S. Department stand on the issues.
