New Jersey to Launch Online Poker Market

New Jersey will launch its online poker market in November 2013.

The state of New Jersey will launch its new online poker market on November 26, 2013. The Division of Gaming Enforcement of New Jersey has already notified state casinos about the date of the launch, as well of the date of the final regulations of internet gambling, which will be on October 21, 2013. The regulations were drawn up in May of 2013 but have been edited and refined over the past few months, specifically in the areas of player identification, security, and balance management.

New Jersey is the first state to have passed legislation to allow an instate gambling network, though not for the other states' lack of trying. Nevada has run into issues with their drafting of regulations, as well as with attracting players to launch its own online gambling network.

New Jersey State Senator Richard Lesniak commented, "I think we're going to have a vibrant internet gaming market in New Jersey generating revenues for casinos and the state, and keeping people employed." He added that this could be good news for New Jersey on a national level. ""This is the start of something I believe is going to evolve into New Jersey dominating the national and international market of Internet gaming."
