One of the biggest games of the year tonight at 1:15 GMT with all eyes on the 49ers and that unbeaten record.
Tonight, we will be treated to what many are calling the most important game of the regular season, so far. Why you may ask? Because we've got the unbeaten San Fransisco 49ers, against a very strong Seattle Seahawks team that could be a real contender this season. The action gets underway from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, and the weather should be just about perfect for primetime.
Many people do not know just how deep the rivalry is between these two teams. For many years, it was the Seahawks and the 49ers who battled for supremacy over the NFC West and fans do not forget. This is the first time since 1990 where the 49ers have gone 8-0, and, in that season they ended 14-2. The Seahawks are at 7-2 so far this year, but, they have yet to blow out any teams they've faced this season. Each game has been close and even last week it was forced to overtime Buccaneers.
The 49ers offense has been terrific this season. They are averaging 29.4 points-per-game, have a conversion rate of 48.6% on 3rd downs, but, they are even more impressive at the rush with 171.1 yards-per-game (2nd in the NFL). They have three different running backs with over 300 yards apiece.
The main weapon on the Seahawks' side is QB Russell Wilson. He has a rating of 133.7 for Week 9 and has the ability to control the field if he is on. Seattle long had a very good defense, but, that is long ago. This year's defense is ranked at 23rd position against the run allowing 4.7 yards-per-carry, which could spell their demise against a team like the 49ers. They (49ers) are tied for first place in rush TDs with 13 already this year...Watch out Seattle.
