NFL Monday Night Football: Saints vs. Dolphins

The Saints and the Dolphins are both battling for a spot in the playoffs and tonight at 1:15 GMT they will meet to end Week 16.

Tonight is the grand finale of the NFLs Week 16 schedule and what a way to end it all with a couple of 7-7 teams, going after a spot in the playoffs. The Miami Dolphins will face the New Orleans Saints and both teams are looking toward the postseason and a win would be a significant step to that goal. After the Vikings lost to the LA Rams last night, the Saints have a chance to get a go-ahead and tie with the Eagles at 8-7, as Philadelphia won last night.

The Saints got some devastating news when they learned that their starting QB, Taysom Hill has been sidelined with a positive COVID test and they would need to start rookie quarterback, Ian Book. The young QB will be in the spotlight as this is his first NFL start. To do this in primetime is an obvious layer of pressure for Book. Second-string QB, Trevor Siemian is also on the COVID list so if anything happens to Book in this game, the Saints will be in even more of a predicament.

Book was a fourth-round pick from Notre Dame. He was a solid QB in college appearing in 45 games, 72 touchdowns, 8,948 passing yards on a 63.8 percent completion rate, and only 20 interceptions over his college career.

There are quite a few similarities between these two teams that will make this game a lot more interesting. For example, the Saints are at home tonight and are boasting a losing 2-4 record when playing at Caesars Superdome. Miami is 2-4 when playing away games. They are both playing their 15th game of the season and both teams, as mentioned, are at 7-7.

The Dolphins completely turned their season around and are on a 6-game winning streak. Tua Tagovailoa leads the league in completion percentage at 69.9 percent and they are playing excellent football on defense as well.
