NFL Preseason Opener: Packers vs. PatriotsPublished August 13, 2015 by Sol FH
Rodgers and the Packers take on the Brady-less Patriots in the return to the NFL, live at 23:30 GMT.
For American Football fans, there is nothing sweeter than knowing the preseason gets underway tonight with a ton of games to watch. Two of the top teams in the league, the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots go head-to-head tonight, but sources say that star QB for the home side will not be playing tonight.
Brady in Court
Tom Brady is in the spotlight and not for the right reasons. After the deflatgate incident, Brady has appeared in court, fighting the NFL’s decision to suspend him for four games to begin the 2015 regular season. After his latest court date, the judge saw the reasoning on both sides and the suspension could be lessened at the end of the day. But with the drama almost behind us, it’s time to get back to the gridiron.
This year will be the 50th edition of the Super Bowl and it could very well be plausible to see the same teams going to battle tonight at the NFL final. The defending Super Bowl champions will most-likely be without Tom Brady tonight, which will be a good thing for backup Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to take over the offense; whether the Pats like it or not. Garoppolo is in his second season out of Eastern Illinois and selected in the second round by New England. As a rookie, the Patriots gave Garoppolo 27 passes altogether, of which he completed 19 for 182 yards and his first NFL Touchdown. He needs a lot of preparation before the first regular season game on September 10 against the Steelers.
Online NFL Gambling
Bet365 is the place for preseason NFL betting. The famed UK sportsbook is offering competitive props ahead of tonight’s game, as well as pre-game markets for punters looking to capitalize financially on the NFL. Punters have Over/Under, Point Spread and Outright Winner to choose from. The Packers are visiting tonight, but they have a very small edge and the odds are in their favor at 1.909 on the Over, while the Patriots are 1.909 for the Under.
