The final game of the second week of the NFL Preseason will come to an end tonight with the New Orleans Saints vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags will look to tidy things up in tonight's trip to the Big Easy, but after their shaky start last game, it could be harder than you think.
In their first preseason game, the Jags lost 23-13 to the Browns and the offense was horrible. There was absolutely no rush game and although there were a few scattered plays, Trevor Lawrence's debut was lackluster.
Will things look different this time?
“I don’t think there’s any of that. Usually, we have scrimmages, in college, you have two or three scrimmages and go play a game,” Meyer commented.
“I actually trained my mind for that one that this was a scrimmage, we have to play better. But I also get that we’re in a 20 game season, now you’re down to 19 more games, so it’s a marathon, not a sprint. There are certain things to work on but there were certain things that were pretty good too.”
“I can’t stand bad plays, why did we call that situation? It is even magnified now because you just don’t have many plays,” he said. “I remember looking up and was like my gosh, we’re in the middle of the second quarter and we’ve had three drives, I think. In college, you have three drives in the first quarter or four if you are really cooking. I knew that but now that I did it, it’s on you quick.”
The Jaguars are certainly looking to turn things around, but, the Saints are always a tough team to get past.
At bet365 Sports, the Saints are in the driver's seat with the home-field advantage. They are favorites boasting odds of 1.52. The Jags roll into the Big Easy at 2.67.
