The Philadelphia Eagles will host the New England Patriots in Week 2 of the preseason. It may seem like it has been longer than just 3 years since the Eagles beat arguably the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL to win their first Super Bowl, but it hasn’t. For good reason, Eagles fans get fired up before games against the Patriots and tonight should be yet another big rivalry.
At the very least, this game should serve as an excellent litmus test for just much better both teams have gotten over the past week.
In week 1 of the NFL Preseason, the Patriots took the win from the Washington Football Team, outscoring them 22-13. The Eagles lost their preseason opener to the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-16, and QB Joe Flacco went 10/17 with 178 yards and 1TD.
This will be the Patriots and Eagles' 24th meeting in the preseason. But, it hasn’t been since 2018, the same year the birds beat the Pats in the Super Bowl.
The last time the Eagles and the Patriots met in the Regular Season was back in 2019, wherein the Pats came out on top at 17-10.
NFL Preseason Odds
The Patriots are the visiting team but bet365 Sports has given them the advantage and the odds are with them for a win in Week 2. Bet365 Sports has the Eagles at 2.00, while the Patriots are at 1.83. Now, if you are an Eagles fan, this prediction would be ridiculous because most Eagles fans would never bet against their team.
The Patriots looked a bit better than the Eagles did in Week 1 and it seems like they will keep the intensity going and take a preseason game away from the Eagles.
