NFL Thursday Night: Buccaneers vs RamsPublished December 17, 2015 by Sol FH
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on-the-road to face the St. Louis Rams, live at 1:25 GMT.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in second place, behind the perfect Carolina Panthers in the NFC South. Last week's home loss to the New Orleans Saints made it even harder for them to make the playoffs. Now at 6-7, Tampa Bay still has a slim chance to make the post-season, but they will need to win on-the-road against the Rams tonight.
The St. Louis Rams are in third place in the NFC East, behind the Cardinals and Seahawks respectively. Last week's win over the Detroit Lions showed a newfound offensive attack, where in the past the Rams had averaged just nine points over its last four games. Home for the third straight game, the Rams are favorites to win outright, but with the Buccaneers playoff chances on the line, expect an action packed game in Missouri.
Tampa Bay's running back Doug Martin is just 38 yards away from taking over the NFL lead in rushing yards. He is only 87 yards away from taking over third spot on the Bucs all-time single season rushing record, but tonight he will have to deal with Rams' Linebacker Mark Barron. If Martin can get down field and avoid Baron, it will be a long night for the Rams' defense.
Jameis Winston has thrown for 3059 yards for the Buccaneers, over 1,000 yards more that Rams' QB Nick Foles. The Buccaneers are averaging 363.8 yards per game, while the Rams are only at 297.9. Time will tell which QB will find open receivers tonight.
