NFL Thursday Night: Cardinals vs. Packers

The Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers go head-to-head tonight at 1:20 GMT.

The Arizona Cardinals are the only team left in the NFL to have a perfect record at 7-0. The Green Bay Packers have only lost one game for their 6-1 record. This game should be one of the best of the first half of the season, but, both teams are without some star players which could cause some challenges.

Green Bay will be without their star receiver Davante Adams and fellow wideout Allen Lazard. Both men tested positive for COVID-19 and will need to be sidelined until they recover.

It is funny, but the Packers are actually 6-0 without Adams in the lineup...

"We’re not a better team without him, that’s for sure," Aaron Rodgers commented. "I’d have to look at each of those games, but we’ve just found a way to win those games."

The Cardinals have been the epitome of a well-balanced team and they will not be easy for the Packers to handle. "We understand that we’ve got a tough opponent that we’re going up against, and obviously we’d love to be at full power and have everybody out there," receiver Randall Cobb, commented. "His presence will be missed, but it’s important for us to go out and to find a way to win a ballgame."

Jones Back, Watt Out

For Arizona, its star Defensive End, J.J. Watt will not be in the lineup tonight as he suffered a shoulder injury. He didn't even practice this week and his injury could be worse than originally assumed. Watt has been pressuring QBs over the first 7 games of the season, one sack this season. and 10 hits in the first seven games, including nine in his past four. He has had 10 tackles, including five for a loss.

Even though Watt will be out, Arizona will have pass-rusher Chandler Jones back, who was out for the team's last two games due to COVID-19.

This is an extremely important game for both teams. For Arizona, it means keeping its perfect record. For the Packers, a loss would give the Vikings space to catch up to them in the NFC North.
