The NFL is live for US Thanksgiving Day with a couple of highly-anticipated games on the schedule for tonight. The Detroit Lions will take on the Houston Texans, which we will be covering in this article, followed by a big matchup between the Cowboys and the Washington Football Team.
The Lions and the Texans have been struggling this season, both on the losing side of .500, but, they both are still in it and could rally and change the rest of the season.
The Texans have gone 3-3 since firing their head coach, Bill O'Brien, who started the season in four-straight losses. Amazingly, under interim coach Romeo Crennel, the Texans managed to beat the New England Patriots, 27-20 last week at home.
The Lions, were shutout by the Panthers last week, 20-0, and are now at 4-6 on the year, in the last place in the NFC North. That was the first shutout for the Lions since October 18, 2009.
Both teams will need to rebuild heavily in preparation for next season. The Lions are still counting on the aging, albeit fantastic Adrian Peterson, still leading the Lions in rushing with 389, but, the former NFL MVP has only had two 45+ yard carries in 10 games and has not broken triple digits once. He could be on the lookout for a massive game being that the Texans defense is last in the league against the rush.
The Texans are beginning to click and it could make for an exciting game.
NFL Thursday Night Betting
The NFL is live tonight and online bookmaker bet365 Sports has listed its odds ahead of the game. The Texans are favored to win on-the-road at 1.58, while the Lions are back at 2.50. Something about this game makes me think that the Lions will take over and win. There will also be a ton of live in-play odds to choose from.
The odds mentioned in this article at the bookmaker above were accurate at the time of writing, Nov. 26, 14:00 GMT.
