NFL Thursday Night: Rams vs 49ers

The LA Rams travel north to Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California to face the 49ers to kick-off Week 3 (01:25 UK).
The NFL Regular Season rolls into Week 3 with a Thursday Night Football match-up between the Rams and the 49ers. This will be the second straight game for the 49ers against a division rival, last week as they lost a tough game to the Seahawks last week, 12-9. The Rams are 1-1, but look evenly matched with San Fransisco, but the 49ers are 0-2 so far this year. They (49ers) do have the edge on the all-time win/loss record with the Rams, and they won all 2016 games against them.
The Rams offense is currently tied for fourth in the NFL, while the 49ers are in 30th, averaging 6-points per game. The Rams also crush the 49ers in total offense, but lose in rushing, as the Rams' passing is their strong point. In fact, rushing is literally the only category in which the 49ers are better than the Rams, but playing at home tonight will give them an advantage.
QB Matchup
This stat definitely goes to Jared Goff with 530 yards through the air. Brian Hoyer has 292 yards, but he has yet to throw a touchdown this season. He is having a terrible year so far with two interceptions and virtually no protection by the 49ers' Offensive Line. The 31-year old has been sacked 6 times over two games and if this continues the 49ers will be looking to their backups in the near future.
Defensively, the 49ers played a good game last week and could use that momentum to hold their own against the Rams tonight.
