NFL Week 1 Finale: The First Monday Night Football of the New Season

It's the battle for California as the LA Rams take on the Oakland Raiders on the Sept.11 at 3:20 GMT.

What an incredible opening weekend we have witnessed, and there is absolutely no way to kick this week into high-gear than the Monday Night Football game. The first one of the year promises to be an action-packed four quarters between two teams from the West, albeit one from the AFC and the other from the NFC. Raiders vs. Rams games are always a rivalry, and it is going to be an exciting match as Oakland-Alameda County Stadium stands on its feet for the return of Head Coach Jon Gruden.

The Raiders wrapped up their last preseason test against the Seahawks just a few hours north. That game went in favor of the Silver and Black as the whistle blew ending in a win 30-19 over a strong Seattle team. Even playing with a lot of its hopeful players displayed the differences in preparedness between the teams.

The Rams were skunked by the New Orleans Saints, 28-0, as both the aerial game, the run, and the defense looked like a bottom-level team that will not go far in the NFC West. The blowout may have been a showcase of a lot of players, whom hopefully didn't all make the cut, but not being able to put any points on the scoreboard is never a positive thing.

Betting Preview

The Monday Night-er always receives a little extra betting attention and this week should be a bigger-than-usual wagering opportunity. At bet365 Sports, punters will be able to bet on the outright odds in favor of the Rams at 1.47 and 2.75 for the Raiders. It looks like a chance to pounce on the underdog and shoot for a win. There are an additional 163 betting markets prior to kickoff, but during the game, bet365 Sports will be providing live in play markets for interactive punters.
