The Chicago Blackhawks could clinch a spot in the Conference Finals tonight if they are able to beat the Minnesota Wild, as Game 4 of the best-of-7 series continues tonight at Xcel Energy Center.
Chicago won Game 3, 1-0 in a hard fought battle and have the chance to ruin the Wild’s post season hopes for a third straight year. The Hawks have made the Western Conference Playoffs each of those three years and their past closing record looks like they will most likely do it again.
Coach Joel Quenneville is 13-4 in clinching important games and he is confident but understands that the Wild will not go down lightly. "You're always playing that next game like it's a game you have to win. That's your focus," Quenneville said. "You don't think of the three games after. Right off the bat, we want to make sure we're playing the right way and not waiting for them to come at us."
For the Wild, tonight needs to be the best game they will have played all season long. They need to get their first win in this series and worry about what comes later afterwards. The home ice advantage that they have tonight will definitely make things easier than playing in Chicago but still they have a mountain to climb and it starts with three winning periods tonight.
