The NHL conference finals have been incredible up until now. Both the East and the West are giving fans their money's worth, as the games have been some of the best we have seen all year. The Blues and the Sharks and the Penguins and the Lightning are the last four remaining teams in contention for a berth to the Stanley Cup Finals, but which teams will make it through.
Tonight, the Blues are expected to make some serious line changes as they lost Game 2, 4-0 as the Sharks humiliated them at Scottrade center in St. Louis on Tuesday night. The series is now tied one game apiece, but heading into San Jose for the next two games means that the Blues will need to turn their shutout loss around and win on-the-road if they are to stay within reach of the Sharks.
The Sharks did not have the best home record during the regular season at 18-20-3, but they have managed to recapture home-ice advantage during these playoffs by beating Nashville 4-0 and a solid win against the Blues. "I think we're comfortable here at home. We said it after the Nashville series: If you got a Game 7, you would rather play at home. I think that was a big help for us. We don't have home ice advantage in this series, but by getting that split, we do now," stated Sharks coach Peter DeBoer.
