NJ, Delaware Set Online Gambling Launch Dates

New Jersey and Delaware have both made announcements regarding online gambling launch dates, with state residents set to see the fruits of legalization in November and October respectively.

New Jersey - Nov 23

The state of New Jersey has set a tentative launch date for November 23, although it remains to be seen whether any of the licensed operators will be ready by that time. According to reports, Atlantic City's Borgata Casino is closest to being ready after embarking on an aggressive online gambling hiring spree in recent weeks.

New Jersey is one of three states to pass laws on online gambling. Under its new regulations, existing Atlantic City casinos may partner with online gambling companies to offer real-money Internet gambling to customers who are located within state borders.

Delaware: Oct 30

The Delaware State Lottery has announced that it will launch a trial of free to play online casino games on October 30. The games will be open to players from anywhere and requires only a Facebook account. Players can use free chips to play a range of casino games including slots, blackjack and poker.

Once real-money games are launched, players will be required to prove their age, ID and that they are located within Delaware's boundaries. The state chose Scientific Games International and 888 Holdings to set up Internet gambling.

Nevada

As regular readers would know, Nevada was the first state to fully implement legal online gambling earlier this year. Ultimate Gaming recently received final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission to continue operating the state's only legal online poker website, and other sites are expected to follow shortly.
