Norwegian National Lottery to Employ Playscan Technology

Norway's national lottery Norsk Tipping has become the first lottery to launch Playscan into its video lottery terminals (VLT) after signing a deal with the player protection solution company. Playscan's gaming behavior tools will also monitor all of Norsk Tipping's mobile and online products.

When playing in the lottery, Norwegian players are required to use their personalized electronic ID issued by the lottery (player's card) which in turn gives the players access to view unique data on all of their activities. This is a very fertile ground for Playscan to implement its responsible gambling behavior tools. This step by the Norwegian lottery might drive other national lotteries to implement such systems in their service.

Commenting on the partnership, Norsk Tipping CEO Torbjörn Almlid said that responsible gambling has always been important for the operator, and that his company is proud to be the first lottery to implement Playscan for its land-based services. Playscan chief executive Andreas Holmström said that his company is delighted to work with Norsk Tipping, a company that according to his words "takes responsible gambling extremely seriously".
