With a rise of nearly 22% in 2013, the ladies are definitely in the game.
Online poker has known to be a man's game and not many women would even consider playing at a serious table. Recent data released by IGT (International Game Technology) states that the number of female poker players in social casinos has risen by record numbers. This report, part of the US Social Casino Index project is based on well-over 6,000,000 players that have played online poker games on Facebook or on a mobile device and was focused on each player's preferences in a social casino.
Female Poker Players on the Rise
Poker is no longer a male-dominated game as the increase in female players has gone up 22% in 2013. There is still a male majority but the number of women that are coming out to play video poker at social casinos is on the rise big time.
The research also stated that Hawaiian women are spending around 6.5 hours every month playing poker and both men and women spend exactly the same amount of time playing free online poker every week. It was the women of Utah that were recorded as the biggest risk takers, betting with over 8 million chips per session while the big state of Wyoming showed that women playing there were far more conservative with only 1 million chips per session.
Female-Focused Online Gambling
Some casinos have even created special platforms that appeal to women only including the Bingo Platform from 888 called 888 Ladies. This is a platform that has been designed with women in mind as can be seen by its color combination and choice of pink cupcakes and jewelry that is in the background pictures.
