November 26 is New Jersey's Big Day

New Jersey is the third state to legalize gambling; launch date is November 26.

On November 26, 2013 online gambling will officially become legal in the state of New Jersey. It's been a long road, but Governor Chris Christie has fought the good fight in order to legalize online casino gambling, which could significantly increase the state's revenue.

Specifically, it will encourage more business in Atlantic City casinos, whose profits have been steadily decreasing since 2006 (due to the growing popularity of online casinos). Nine Atlantic City casinos have already announced their partnerships with online gambling sites and are ready for the November 26 launch date.

Despite the bumps along the road, everyone is getting excited. The most recent bump has been the split decision from three federal judges that has continued the prohibition of sports gambling in New Jersey. Christie remains optimistic that the matter will be taken up by the Supreme Court, as other states are closely watching how New Jersey's online gambling journey plays out.

New Jersey is the third state in the United States to have legalized online gambling, following in the footsteps on Nevada and Delaware. Who knows which state is next?
