Long list of 13 authors released. Betting on who will win is underway.

The Man Booker Prize has awarded authors an annual prize since 1969. The prize is awarded to the author of a full length novel in English. The traditional longlist - novelists selected as finalists for the prize - has awarded great recognition for more than just the winner.

The Man Booker Prize 2011 longlist of 13 novelists - including the familiar names of Alan Hollinghurst and Julian Barnes as well as 4 first time writers - was announced. Immediately after the announcement, online sportsbooks posted their odds on the winner of the Man Booker Prize 2011.

Literary prizes are not the only "non-sports" events one can bet on at online sportsbooks. Take the Mercury Music Prize 2011 for album of the year, for instance.

Leading with 5/2 odds ahead of the event is PJ Harvey, for her album Let England Shake.

Others include Anna Calvi (4/1 odds), Adele (11/2), and James Blake (15/2).

The book on the Mercury Prize closes September 1. Visit bet365 now and place your bet on your favorite artist.
