It's happening! The long-awaited 2016 iGaming Super Show kicked off today, alongside the Amsterdam Affiliate Conference (AAC) and many other events. The Online Casino Reports team is on the grounds, checking out the many different and exciting attractions and meeting operators, affiliates, brands and everyone in between. We're excited to take part in these two days jam-packed with events.
Over 4,000 Delegates Expected
This is one of the most important iGaming events of the year and we're excited to see the biggest names and what they have to announce. After 3,906 delegates were recorded in last year's show, the organizers are expecting more than 4,000 to walk the exhibition grounds. This event brings everyone and everything from the industry together: Operators, regulators, affiliates, media, innovators - it's really a spectacle.
Virtual Reality – It's Here
Some highlights so far include a very cool virtual reality experience courtesy of SlotsMillion that had us linked with the Cash Game Festival that's taking place 2,000 km away in Malta! Virtual reality is certainly one of the buzz words on everyone's lips and mobile devices here in Amsterdam.
Everyone is under the impression left by Microgaming's virtual roulette which was presented in ICE 2016, and it's safe to wager that the companies will certainly want to make a splash with VR becoming such a focal element in the industry. It will be interesting to see if any other big announcements will come out of the event. VR is not the only thing abuzz here, with the Euro 2016 kicking off in two days, we've seen many balls bouncing around, so sports betting is under the spotlight this summer as well.
Sights and Sounds and Racing Cars
So far we've seen some extraordinary sights, including: Racing cars from video games (Gran Turismo - IQ option) and a Formula 1 car from Betcart, innovating marketing ideas like "walking barcodes", many nice ladies and models. There's a smell of innovation in the air and the show goers are looking forward to great things. We've met many old friends and looking forward to meeting new ones.
A Big Event for a Big Industry
The booths and stands here are bustling with activity, everyone is friendly and there's a festive feeling of something really big taking place. Blame us for being emotional, but it's always exciting to see how the industry has bloomed over the years and how big it had become, while at the same time retaining its uniqueness.
