Online Casino Reports hereby announce that the popular video slot game, The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, will be removed from online casinos before the end of the month.
The Lord of the Rings was launched to great fanfare back in the summer of 2010. The popular trilogy was the basis for this immensely popular game.
The casino slot game version of the epic trilogy was developed by Microgaming, online casino software developer and games provider. It was featured on many online casinos, all powered by Microgaming, including JackpotCity Casino.
Now Microgaming has notified online casinos that it will be removing the video slot from its games repertoire. Yes, The Lord of the Rings will be removed sometime before 31 May. The reason for this is unknown, although likely has to do with royalties; the game has been successful the entire time it was out.
Surely we can expect Microgaming to release new games soon to draw new interest and popular attention.
