Online Poker Reaches Italian Market

Evolution Gaming and Lottomatica this week announced another first for the Italian online gambling market, with news of the release of an online casino hold'em poker table on their local site.

Italian Online Poker Launch

Filmed live from Evolution Gaming's studios, Lottomatica's online poker table is already available on PC and Mac and will be launched for iPad in the coming months. It has been certified by Italian gambling authority AAMS and will use bluescreen technology to create what the company called "an authentic casino environment online."

Lottomatica celebrated the launch last week by hosting Italy's own two-time World Series of Poker Gold Bracelet winner Max Pescatori at their tables. Pescatory trained as a croupier in Las Vegas before going pro himself, so he was right at home dealing at Evolution's Live Casino Hold'em table on its opening two nights.

Live Casino Expansion

The online poker table is the latest in a host of recent live casino launches from Evolution and Lottomatica. The two companies have been changing the face of Italian online gambling with a bunch of offerings from Evolution's studios, including Live Baccarat, Live Roulette and Live Blackjack.

Many of these games are offered for mobile devices too: earlier this year Lottomatica released the first-web-based live roulette and live casino TV show for Italian iPad owners.
