Mobile bookie becomes first online gambling operator to offer such a function.
Irish mobile bookmaker Paddy Power has become the first operator to launch a Bet & Watch feature for Apple's iPhone, which allows its customers to watch races live from their iPhones and iPads, gambling sites are reporting.
Bet on race, watch it liveIn an echo of the company's online sportsbook, the new feature added to the Paddy Power App will allow punters to place £1/€1 bets on this week's races at Royal Ascot, to enable them to watch the same races live from their smartphone devices.
The original feature was established to give customers the opportunity to watch horse races online from the comfort of their home or workplace, and with this new feature punters will be able to do so from the train, bus or office as well.
Development of mobile appsPaddy Power's app was approved for download by Apple's iTunes store in August last year, and the company is now one of only a handful of online gambling operators to provide its apps for all of the iPhone, iPad and Android platforms.
Its other online gaming offerings have also been expanded of late, and users will be familiar with the new games available on their iPhone devices, including Monopoly Multiplier, Multi Hand Blackjack and American Roulette.
