Play'n GO Releases Heavy Metal-themed Sabaton Slot

With Sabaton slot, Play'n GO continues producing entertaining games based on strong rock metal sounds, this time featuring a well-known Swedish power metal band.

Slowly but surely, Play'n GO is becoming a leader in terms of developing modern video slots based on powerful rock and metal sounds, with special affinity for Swedish metal bands. Last year, the company released House of Doom, the slot featuring music developed particularly for the game by award-winning band Candlemass. Their latest release follows in the same footsteps, as the Sabaton slot is themed after the power metal Swedish band of the same name.

Familiar Setting for the Fans

Fans of the band will find this game close to their hearts as everything, from background music and songs, to symbols appearing on the reels is directly connected to Sabaton. Because of this, there are probably quite a few players who couldn't wait for the slot to finally see the light of day.

Symbols populating the reels of the Sabaton slot include Joakim Brodén, the band's lead singer who acts as the wild, the band's logo is the scatter, while other members appear as regular symbols. Then, there are other lower symbols like hand grenades, pilot helmets, swords, etc. These symbols may come as a bit of surprise to a majority of players but not to the band's fans, who know that a majority of Sabaton's songs are based on war and major historical battles.

Chained Reels, Stacks, and Battalion Spins

In addition to really powerful graphics and sounds, this slot game is also very rich in features, which more than makes up for a relatively low number of paylines, at least for today's standards. Sabaton is one of those slots that can surprise on every spin.

First of all, there is the chained reel feature, which can link two or three reels in any positions, filling them with same symbols on every row. This includes scatters, nine of which are required to trigger the Battalion Spins feature. If there are three to eight scatters landing on the reels, they will all transform into one randomly selected symbol of the same type.

The Metal Stacks feature guarantees one symbol will be stacked on the reel strips. The Last Stand feature is triggered randomly, adding one or two full wild reels on the grid.

In the Battalion Spins, triggered with nine or more scatters, three middle reels are chained for the duration of the feature. All high paying symbols appear as Mega Symbols (3x3) and one lower paying symbols is randomly selected to remain stacked on the reels.
