Playtech Becomes First Platform Provider to Enter Czech Market With Online Casino

Playtech has become the first casino software provider to offer their games in the Czech Republic through their partnership with Fortuna Entertainment.
Playtech, one of the leading casino platform and software providers, has become the first company to enter the newly regulated Czech online gambling market. Playtech made its entry in cooperation with Fortuna Entertainment, a quickly growing gaming brand they signed a partnership deal with in August of 2016.
The First License Issued
New Czech online gambling regulations are quite demanding, and several casinos have decided to temporarily leave the market to make sure they meet all the demands prior to submitting their application for the license.
Playtech and Fortuna Entertainment partnership has thus become the first one to receive the license after complying with all the requirements. The Czech Ministry of Finance issued the license on February 24, after which Fortuna Entertainment went live offering a number of popular Playtech titles like Gladiator, White King, and the well-known progressive slot Age of the Gods.
Expansion Plans
Representatives from Playtech and Fortuna are excited about being the first one to the market. As Playtech's COO Shimon Akad explained, the company is very satisfied to be able to offer their omnichannel technology and high-quality casino content to players in the Czech Republic.
At the same time, David Vanek of Fortuna Entertainment explains the partnership goes along well with company's ideas of expanding their offer beyond just sports betting. Through the agreement with Playtech, they became the first ones in the country to offer players a chance to play fully licensed and regulated online slots and casino table games.
According to both companies, these are just the first steps of their cooperation. Plans for the near future include launching a casino in Poland and Slovakia as well. Vanek believes the aggressive expansion is the best and only way forward for the company, and Playtech products will make them competitive in the market, by ensuring Fortuna's gaming offer is on par with that of the best European online casinos out there.
