Playtech Chosen To Supply Online Titles To Holland Casino

The Dutch online gambling market is experiencing an overhaul in 2014. Currently, Holland Casino hold a monopoly on legal casinos in the country, where they have 14 outlets with all profits going to the State. However, proposals for legalised online casinos are due to become a reality from next year, with the first licenses granted the year after, and Holland Casino have announced Playtech as the supplier of  games to their new site, expected to launch in 2015. Under the proposals, gaming licenses will be handed out to a number of operators, so Holland Casino will not hold the online monopoly in the same way as they currently do with land based sites.

Playtech will also develop the platform, while launching a whole range of Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Slots and Bingo games for the local market. The interim CEO of Holland Casino, Willem-Jan van den Dijssel said of the announcement "We will soon offer our players a unique gaming environment and experience. Coupled with the expertise of Playtech, we look forward with confidence to the forthcoming regulation of the market."

Playtech are listed on the London Stock Exchange, and offer a one-stop service for online casino operators. By choosing Playtech, Holland Casino can get an entire online site running, with regulatory approval, financial services, customer support and more, although not all clients use all services, and the final details have not yet been revealed. The deal was struck after a competitive tender process with a number of other suppliers, and Playtech will enter the 17th largest European gambling market, where an estimated 700,000 players generate between 130 - 250 million Euros in revenue each year.
