New feature allows members to create private clubs between friends.
PokerStars, the world's biggest online poker room, has unveiled a new home games feature that allows users to create private networks between friends.
Customize TournamentsWith the new feature, users can customize their own tournaments and cash games, from penny poker to $1/$2 stakes games. Each private club can accommodate up to 50 players and will be shielded from public view, without showing up on the search feature.
Club managers have full control over the club and can invite friends by giving them a specially provided number and password. And best of all, home games are not subject to the usual Poker Stars restrictions that prevent players from the same household from sitting at the same table.
PokerStars is also utilizing social media, with club managers able to invite friends to tournaments and cash game tables via popular networking websites Facebook and Twitter.
Major PromotionTo mark the launch of this new feature, PokerStars is giving away a major prize to the member who can explain via video why their home game is the best. The competition is open until January 14, when staff and players at the official PokerStars Caribbean Adventure party will select the first prize, participation in a $10,000 freeroll event at the resort.
