Premier League Betting: Burnley Vs. Sheffield United
Published July 5, 2020 by Sol FH
The Premier League continues today at 12:00 GMT with a top-ten match between the Clarets and the Blades.
Today will be a big day for Burnley and Sheffield United as they face-off in what could be their biggest chance to maintain a top-ten position in the Premier League standings.
The big story here is the Blades, who in their first season in the Premier League since 2007, went into the weekend sitting in the seventh position in the table, en route to a Europa League spot.
Sheffield United, under Chris Wilder, has still been able to add four points to their record since coming back from the COVID-19 break. This could be the first season that they are able to pull the double over Burnley, having beaten them 3-0 in South Yorkshire in November.
Burnley will surpass Sheffield in the table if they are able to win tonight. They have a chance to hit the Europa league for the second time in three years if they can end the season on a streak of some kind. After returning to league play and suffering a devastating 5-0 loss to the Citizens, the Clarets made it back-to-back wins against Watford and Crystal Palace. They haven't lost a game at home since January and look to maintain that streak today against the Blades.
Burnley will need to work through a few big issues today. They might be without their three main strikers in Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, and Jay Rodriguez. Management has also let a few key contracts expire which adds a layer of turmoil, but the team has been able to fight until now.
