Premier League: Everton vs Arsenal Match Preview and Prediction
Published December 13, 2016 by Sol FH
The Gunners try to extend their lossless record on the road against Everton tonight at 19:45 GMT.
The Gunners have a chance to tighten the table up with league leaders Chelsea tonight, at least before the Blues' match tomorrow night against Sunderland. Arsene Wenger's men face a team that they have not lost to in the last 18 Premier League meetings and they are also the sole team in the league without a loss on the road. Everton have a healthy team and did not lose anyone to injury in last week's match against Watford. They lost that game 3-2 away, and things have been going steadily downhill for the Toffees.
Arsenal will be without Shkodran Mustafi and Gabriel is meant to fill in for him for the next three weeks. Aaron Ramsey will remain on the sidelines with a hamstring problem. The Gunners have the edge in more ways than one against Everton. They actually have more wins against Everton than over any other team in the Premier League and if they win again tonight it will be the 30th time doing so. Inconsistency has plagued the Toffee's this year. They started the year on a tear with four wins in five matches, but over their last ten matches they have only one win. The home pitch advantage has been helpful, as they haven't lost a match at Goodison Park in ten league matches.
The tale of the tape between Koeman and Wenger is interesting, as Everton's coach has not lost to Wenger in all five of the matches they have faced off at Goodison. This was while Wenger was at Ajax, PSV, Alkmaar and Southampton respectively. Wenger will be out to win tonight and punters would be wise betting with them.
