Published May 6, 2021 by Sol FH
It is gonna be a wild weekend of Premier League action as clubs will be vying to improve their standing. Matchday begins Friday at 20:00 GMT.
It is almost the end of the Premier League season and we are down to the final month of action. Tomorrow night we begin Matchday 35 of 38 and unless there is a total collapse by Man. City over these next few weeks, we already know that they have won the league. The interesting battles are not for the top spot, rather making it to the Champions League, or, not dropping out of the Premier League.
There are some incredible matches this weekend and we will take a look at the ones with the most impact on how the season will end, beginning with tomorrow's match between Leicester City vs. Newcastle.
Leicester vs. Newcastle, Friday at 20:00 GMT
This match has big consequences on both sides of the table. For Leicester, currently sitting in third place in the table, two points ahead of fourth-place Chelsea, and, five points ahead of fifth-place West Ham, is in serious danger of losing its spot in the standings, especially after two losses in a row.
On the other side of things, Newcastle is set on staying in the Premier League, currently in 17th place, nine points clear of relegation. It has been a tough season for Newcastle, but they have been able to turn it around. Over its last five matches, they have two wins, two draws, and only one loss.
Odds
At bet365 Sports, the obvious favorites are the home team at 1.40, while Newcastle is at 8.00.
Manchester City vs. Chelsea, Saturday at 17:30 GMT
This is the match of the weekend, as it could have grave implications for the top 4. Chelsea, currently in fourth place, will take on City twice in the next few weeks, of course in the Premier League, and, in the Champions League Final after both teams secured their spots earlier this week.
In their last match, the FA Cup semifinal, not one month ago, the Blues were victorious after a 1-0 win. The Citizens have been on a tear of late, winning 4 matches but losing one, but, Chelsea is doing even better going 4 wins with a draw over the last 5.
All eyes will be on this match as a predecessor to the Champions League Final and both teams are ready to leave it all on the pitch.
Odds
This could be the match to make a wager on the underdogs. bet365 Sports has Chelsea back at 4.33 for the outright win, while City is at 1.85. Chelsea has a great opportunity to win and taking them is probably the right choice.
