Pressure in La Liga: Can Real Madrid Hold On?

Los Blancos host Villarreal tonight in La Liga action at 20:00(UK).

Last week’s slip-up by Barcelona against Malaga meant that Real Madrid found themselves with yet another cushion on top of the Spain Primera Liga. That could be the blessing that Real was waiting for, however it could also be adding to the pressure of needing to win.

Odds Against Villarreal

Real are now with 60 points to Barcelona’s 56 and they look like they cannot lose at home. If Villarreal want to have a chance at beating Los Blancos at Santiago Bernabeu, they will need to break a ten-year curse. Villarreal have not beaten Real at Bernabeu for over a decade.

This week’s action could be one of the last chances for an upset to happen, as sixth place Villarreal (44 points) are set on giving it everything they have got in Madrid tonight. The Spanish Primera League is now Madrid’s’ to lose and it could be that notion alone that is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. The pressure to win could be Madrid’s downfall.

Real should not have too much to worry about tonight. In their last four matches against Villarreal at Bernbeu, Madrid have netted 17 goals. Should Villarreal be the upset tonight, they will jump past Sevilla and will have taught Real Madrid a lesson.

Real Madrid: On Point at Home

Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale are the reason for Madrid’s near-impeccable home record this season. Real Madrid should easily win this match tonight and punters guessing Correct Score should expect at least a 2-goal evening.

Live In-Play Markets at bet365

La Liga action is part of bet365’s live in-play markets tonight and the UK sportsbook has a number of pre-match odds as well. Villarreal will need a miracle tonight at 13.00, while Real is at 1.20. Correct Score is as always, paying out at 8.50 for a 2-1 Real Madrid win, which is quite plausible.

Live In-Play markets will be offered throughout the 90 minutes of play so if you want an interactive experience, that is the best way to do so.
