Profits Still Coming to Affiliates

Although the US Congress recently passed a bill that would ban gambling websites fom US fans, this bill seems unlikely to win the US Senate vote.

Beginning August 4th, 2006, the Senators will be taking a month off and will divert their focus to other legislative matters. According to Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist, the bill was not among the top priorities outlined.

We should be clarifying the law in the opposite direction. Legalizing Internet gambling and regulating the industry - as Britain has done - is the absolute best way to toughen protections against gambling by minors, identify problem gamblers, said Arizona Republican, Senator Jon Kyl. With advocates for and against online gambling on both sides of the US Congress, the future of the industry within the US is still unclear. More will surely be clear once the US Senate will reconvene in August.

In the meantime, because the sites are becoming such a popular entertainment venue, and because online gambling as a whole is growing rapidly all around the world and drawing in more and more gambling fans, US fans will most likely continue to place their bets oversees at the many sites available. This will continue the growing profits in the affiliate programs industry. How the US Congress will finally rule remains to be seen, and probably has a very long road to travel until a final decision is made.
