Reality Based Casino

Reality TV guru Mark Burnett, who is responsible for such smash hits as Survivor and The Apprentice, has joined forces with Tim Poster and Tom Breitling the new owners of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The idea was to create a reality show that uncovers what really goes on behind the scenes of an actual casino.

Upon seizing control over the Golden Nugget, the new owners intended to restore that vintage Vegas vibe that once made the Golden Nugget downtown's most prominent casino. The Casino features Tim and Tom as they try to figure out how to run the casino. The show also follows the hotel's guests and staff, uncovering real life drama as it unfolds.

The fact that the Golden Nugget is situated in downtown Las Vegas makes it hard for the new owners to compete with the wealth of attractions that are available on the strip. In an area of fierce competition among land based casinos in Las Vegas, turning to reality television as a marketing strategy can definitely be seen as ground braking.

There has never been a show quite like this before. Tim and Tom were wise to jump on the Reality-TV bandwagon, which is now being used as a marketing tool. What better way to appeal to the masses then using a TV show to promote your own casino.
