Senet Group Expands with Five New members

UK-facing gambling body Senet Group has announced that five new members shall be joining. As of April 2019, the companies shall include Aspers, Caesars, Genting, Playtech, and Rank Group. Categorically, the new members are either operators or software providers to the UK igaming industry.

Existing Members

Moving forward, the companies shall play a role alongside existing funding partners in the form of GVC, PaddyPower Betfair, ScotBet, SkyBet, and William Hill. Ultimately, their aim shall be to promote the adoption of socially responsible gambling standards throughout the UK marketplace.

Quarterly Meetings

On a functional basis, the Senet Group arranged to sit quarterly in a forum of CEOs. Following that, the forum of CEOs shall then pass on their advice and recommendations to Senet Group chairman Gillian Wilmot and the rest of the board members. The origins of the Senet Group can be traced back to 2014, when the body began to lobby for the improvement of advertising standards within the gambling market.

When the Fun Stops, Stop

One of the more memorable initiatives would have to be the campaign bearing the “When the fun stops, stop” message. Another is the MOSES scheme, which is intended to encourage high street gamblers to request self-exclusion.

Collaboration the Way Forward

Senet Group chief executive Sarah Hanratty has explained that the body, thus far, has focused on understanding problem gambling in order to address the issue. Moving forward, she stated that the next area of focus would be to collaborate on the development of future projects.

Collective Belief

John O’Reilly of Rank Group added that the five new funding partners believed in the Senet Group’s commitment to responsible gambling and that it should be a cornerstone of how they do business. He further explained that there was a desire for progress in fostering a safer gambling industry for punters.
